Lilac Cottage is to be found in the village of Northwold which is on the north west edge of Thetford Forest. This historic village, set in rolling agricultural land, is full of architectural character, largely generated by the layers of buildings resulting from its historical development. The centre of the village is dominated by a 13th Century Church, and there is a local pub as well as a village shop. There is easy access to many interesting places such as Downham Market (9 miles) and Kings Lynn (17 miles) to the north west, Sandringham (20 miles) and the beautiful North Norfolk coast 40 miles to the north. Historic Norwich, with its cathedral, river and excellent shopping, is 32 miles to the west.
The self contained accommodation is on the ground floor with private entrance and offers a double room with king size bed and en suite facilities with a shower, television and tea and coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast is served in your own room, or, if you prefer, a full English breakfast can be served in the owners' own dining room which features an inglenook fireplace and original beams to add to the atmosphere. Evening meals are available most nights in the local pub (400 m), and there are several other pubs only a short drive away. The accommodation is non smoking and John and Hilary regret that they are unable to accept pets. There is ample off street parking adjacent to the accommodation. You are assured of a warm welcome from your hosts John and Hilary Sherrington. |
